- Digital Camera or Camcorder gear (if you don t have one, then buy a disposable).
- A tripod if you like taking your own pictures
- Charger for the camera or camcorder
- Memory or tapes for you camera / camcorder
- Carry a laptop if you have one. Many places are now Hot-Spots
- Cell phone (You will be amazed how far you can get reception)
- Charger for the cell phone
- Clothes (always carry a spare sweater or jacket)
- Hat or a cap
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen lotion
- Wind sheeter pant (to protect your legs in case of cold)
- GPS or Maps / directions with a pen or pencil
- Hotel / camping Reservation details
- Reading material about the place you are visiting (Public libraries are the best source)
- Music CDs or IPod for your drive
- Swiss knife (Contains switch knife, scissors, twisters etc) If you are taking a flight then put it in your check-in luggage
- Water can or cooler
- If you are carrying food then take paper plates, plastic glasses, spoons, serving spoons
- Fruits / Snacks (If you do not have a swiss knife then carry small knife)
- Mosquito repellent
- An extra pair of shoes or sandles
- Socks (You don t want the drive to be uncomfortable with your stinking socks)
- First-Aid kit (Band-Aid, Iodine, Cotton, Bandages, etc)
- Any necessary medication for pain or nausea (Tylenol, Aleeve)
- Personal care kit (Nail cutter, twiser, etc)
- Car inverter, to charge you camera / cell phone battery (Buy one if you don t have. They cost about $50 and will even charge your laptop on the go)
- Camping gear of you are going camping (Tent, bedding, warm blankets)
- Tools like hammer (to put the tent pegs in the ground), screw driver, duct tape.
- An extra pillow or blanket of you feel like
- Firewood/Charcoal for camp fire/BBQ
- Light sources like lamp/emergency torch (Check and replace old batteries)
